Visit Mont Saint-Michel from our gîtes in Normandy
For only 3 km from Clos Saint-Gilles, Mont Saint-Michel is one of the most visited tourist sites in France.
The abbey, founded in the VIIIᵉ century (traditionally in 708), dominates the medieval village built on the rock. The architectural complex, developed between the XIᵉ and XVIᵉ centuries, blends Romanesque and Gothic styles. The site is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1979.
The Bay of Mont Saint-Michel is famous for its high tides. It can be explored on guided crossings on foot, organised by accredited professionals. From horse riding are also available in the bay.
Around the Mont, the salt meadows are home to livestock farms. salt meadow sheep, This is a PDO cheese. Depending on the season, it is possible to witness the transhumance of the herds between the pastures and the grasslands of the bay.

Picturesque B&B with incredible hosts!
Tatiana and Thibault's bed and breakfast exceeded our expectations. The rooms and shared communal area were extremely tidy and well cared for and the property itself is breathtaking. There are several paths to walk through beautifully manicured gardens, a view of Monte Michel Street, and several sitting areas and patio sets for guests to relax and enjoy a glass of wine after a day of exploring.

Two perfect nights. Our room (Pivoine) was large, bright and elegant, with quality bedding. The breakfasts were copious, home-cooked and varied. Thibault and Tatiana are really pleasant and attentive, it's a family place! Many thanks to them!
