A botanical treasure trove in the heart of La Manche
Le Jardin du Clos Saint-Gilles

Nestling just a stone's throw from Mont Saint-Michel, the Jardin du Clos Saint-Gilles is set in over a hectare of historic grounds. Created in 2007 around a former orchard, this formal garden has been redesigned to showcase Normandy's heritage and offer a unique sensory experience.
Along the winding paths, you'll discover six "themed enclosures": a fragrant rose garden, colourful perennial beds, a bed of grasses, a collection of aromatic plants, a white garden and a shade garden. Each area showcases a selection of rare varieties, grown with respect for the environment and without chemical treatment.

The centrepiece of the garden is its circular vegetable garden, planted according to the principles of permaculture. Beef tomatoes, butternut squash, sweet peppers and aromatic herbs grow here in rotation, offering a palette of colours and flavours throughout the season. The oak benches, scattered beneath the arches of climbing roses, invite contemplation and rest, while the wisteria-covered pergolas create shady alcoves.
An active member of the "Cotentin côté jardin" association, the Jardin du Clos Saint-Gilles offers guided tours by appointment, punctuated by practical workshops including rose pruning, medicinal plant sowing and bouquet making. In summer, themed events (starry night, open-air concert) punctuate the life of the garden and strengthen its links with the local community. Open to guests of the gîte and to visitors from outside, this place of relaxation and botanical discovery combines traditional know-how with contemporary creations, for a memorable stay in the heart of the Bay of Mont Saint-Michel.
